What is the Spiritual Side of Running?

It’s noticing the messages of spirit/god/or whatever you call your higher power. This may be an animal you see, tripping on a branch, or a sudden burst of insight. I believe these are not coincidences, but messages from God/The Universe.

What is “God/higher power/the universe”?

To me, God ...

How to Live a Life You Don’t Need a Vacation From

Posted by:

You know the saying, “live a life you don’t need a vacation from”? Although I understood it, it never seemed attainable to me. I always thought to myself, “when I get the dream job” or “after the kids are older” or “if I just could ….”.

That is, until this past year.

I went on a 7 day Carribean cruise with my family and noticed a dramatic difference. I noticed a major shift this year. I wasn’t craving a week to relax because I already ...

Abiding in silence: my silent retreat experience

Posted by:

I just returned from a 2 1/2 day silent retreat hosted by Yoga on High at the Jesuit Spiritual Center in Milford, OH. It was such a rejuvenating experience.

It was my first silent retreat, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew I would be doing yoga and meditation, which I was excited about.  As an INFJ personality, I really crave alone time, which once I thought about it, I don’t really get unless I am out on a ...

Words And Thoughts Have Energy

Posted by:

Energy is all around us. Atoms, which are the smallest unit of matter, are energy and the building blocks of the chair you sit on, the computer your looking at, and the air you breath.

Did you, however, that both words and thoughts have energy as well?

These words and thoughts can have an impact on both our emotional and physical well-being. We’ve all had thoughts like “I’m not good enough”, “I’m not pretty enough”, or “I’m not smart enough”.

Perhaps we have even said ugly words ...

There’s a Difference Between Giving Up and Letting Go

Posted by:

I was raised in a family that believed you should never quit anything. The no pain no gain mentality.

Unfortunately (and fortunately) this carried with me into adulthood.

If I start a project, training plan, relationship, or am employed at a job that isn’t working…I just stick it out, trudge through the muckiest of muck, and don’t quit. I would reach toward goals that maybe didn’t feel right and all while enduring A LOT of resistance along the way.

I tended to lose ...
